This Week: Mish Mash

My first reaction to black and white flower photos is that it should be in color.  I am such a fan of bright bold colors and flowers are a natural draw for my eye.  However time after time I have seen some wonderful work in black and white with flowers as the subject so I'm going to try to be open to the possibility.  As soon as I saw this flower I knew it would be my first candidate for black and white.  It has a wonderful distinct shape in the petals.

Just so I don't abandon color completely this week's Photoblog Postscript is all about bold colors.
