This Week: The Skatepark

I felt like a little bit of a jinx the evening I was out there.  Every time I would start to focus on a skater, they would fall off of or lose control of their board.  Every time.  By the time I left I was very impressed with the athleticism of the skaters.  They would fall often with a thud and get right back up and do it again.  The longer the hot summer evening went on the more tired, hot and sweaty they were, but they got back on the boards and did it time and time again.  All with the most wonderful positive attitudes.  It is a really great community of people who are welcoming to people of all levels and even to pretend sports photographers who are standing on the sidelines jinxing them.
