This Week: Bayous and Butterflies
This isn't really a park in the traditional sense. It is a promenade that runs along Buffalo Bayou underneath the freeways that criss cross downtown Houston. It doesn't seem like it would be a very relaxing peaceful place, yet every time I am there that is exactly how I feel. Part of the reason is probably because there aren't many people around. Just the bikers and runners taking advantage of the pathways. There is a nice area of grass and some lovely landscaping. Sometimes I think I should come out here to hang out and read, but part of my brain has a hard time accepting the idea of purposely coming to sit under the freeway.
Today is the start of a two day big competition at work. I will be a much, MUCH happier person after Friday afternoon.
