This Week: Goliad Road Trip
During my miserable Spring Break I did manage to get away for a night to the south Texas town of Goliad. It was the site of one of the key battles in the Texas Revolution. I am a history buff and I was looking at new places to explore so it was a natural fit. Starting this week and probably for a few more, photos from the trip.
First up is the Goliad courthouse. This limestone building was built in 1894. The turrets and clock tower were destroyed in a 1942 hurricane, and just replaced in 2003. It was hard to get a straight on shot because either the trees were in the way or the sun was at a bad angle. This wasn't my main focus for the visit so I didn't spend a lot of time here. Maybe I'll go back and try again. I love these large, majestic courthouses.
