Mirror Project: Grocery Store
Just like Goldilocks looking for the best porridge or bed, I've been looking for a grocery store that fits my needs. I'm not much of a cook (pretty much not at all), but I figured that if I went to a nice grocery store with a lot of choices it might encourage me to keep my refrigerator stocked and not eat out as much.
There is a grocery store a few blocks from my apartment that is fine, but a little too generic. I tried the hoity, toity grocery store across town. I wasn't planning on going there all the time because it is quite a drive (in Houston that is saying something), but it was a little TOO fancy for me. Everything was exotic or organic and it just wasn't going to work for what I needed. But just like Goldilocks found that perfect bed, I found my perfect store. It is a very large store with a wide range of items from the exotic to the every day. It is about 15 minutes away on the freeway, but it is worth it. I am finally starting to find my way around and hopefully as I settle back to work in the new year I will start picking up more than just frozen dinners.
