This Week: Texas State Capitol

This is the state capitol building in Austin, TX.  It is the largest capitol in the US in terms of square footage and is taller than the capitol in Washington DC.  The cornerstone was laid in 1885 and work was completed three years later.  It is in the Italian Renaissance Revival style and is made of limestone and pink granite.  

I had an amazing time in Chicago.  It was so much fun and I'm still recovering.  I walked and walked and walked and took an obscene amount of photos.  You will be subjected to them, but it will be a while.  It is going to take quite a while to sort through them.  I can highly recommend Chicago as a travel destination if you like big cities (and I do!)
