Making Your Office Stand Out

While your workers may be okay with the current set-up, using some great design techniques with high-quality office furniture can really invigorate a workplace. Think about the way you feel when you renovate your home, and you can begin to understand what a difference an office upgrade can make.

Using Colour for Effect

Many offices get that dull, boring feeling because of the creams and greys that are so often used. While you don’t have to have a technicoloured rainbow office, a general colour scheme can be useful.

Here are some steps to finding the right colour scheme for your office:

  • Check your logo and business branding to see what colours are prominent.
  • Use the same colours to highlight your workplace, usually with coloured office furniture.
  • Use the same (or similar) colours to your branding to create a stronger, more unified office.
  • Use coloured indoor plants to add vibrancy and life to the office (not to mention the positive health effects).

You should also do a little research on using colours to influence moods. Using red will create a passionate office that is perfect for energetic companies; while something like a soft blue will create trust between the client and your business. You might also consider using more luxurious colours, such as purple, if it suits your products or services.

Lighting Your Office

Office lights can be a nightmare, and usually consist of a few humming fluorescent lights, but you can do things differently. One of the best trends on the market is LED lights that work perfectly to accent art work, or just a boring wall. You can buy them in different colours, or even have them alternating (or manually adjusted) according to your mood.

Tidy Office Storage Solutions

A tidy office is an efficient office, and while having great office storage solutions won’t have an immediate impact, it will create a better sense of space and organisation. You don’t want to have clients come in for a meeting and be confronted with a chaotic-looking office. If they are, they may see this mess as a reflection on how you do business.

A Comfortable Workplace

Having a comfortable workplace is a great way to improve productivity and make clients feel more at home. This can be done by working on your reception area, or creating one if you don’t have one yet. It is also important to provide staff with comfortable spots to work from, especially if there needs to be a lot of collaboration in your business.

Making sure your office makes a big impact does not mean you have to make it bright and gaudy. Good interior design rules still apply, and if the job is quite large you should consider some professional advice. The last thing you want is to start an office makeover and realise that the design is awful!
